The second annual Fourth of July boat parade will be Saturday, July 2nd beginning at 2p from the marina. The parade route includes most of the lake and will last for maybe two hours. Here's your families chance to show off some creative and patriotic themes on your boat. Prizes will be available for "best in show". Please register with Tracy at the marina. A ten dollar registration fee will be donated to BLIMP.
The last you knew BLIMP had set a June 27 deadline to our vendor for the herbicide treatment. I heard from them today and gave them the go ahead to apply the herbicide on Wednesday June 29. It really is important to get this done before the really warm weather, the strong summer sunlight, and because of the boat traffic (props chopping milfoil) beginning on the 4th holiday weekend. We are treating 29 acres and will be working along the Walden shoreline towards Jennifer Lane, the Jennifer Lane shoreline and stump pond out from Jennifer Lane. Also being treated is the river. Water use restrictions are no swimming for 24 hours after the application. While this is general news for most of you the officers of Walden, Jennifer Lane, and those on both sides of the river PLEASE notify your membership about the treatment date and the restriction of no swimming until Friday morning, July 1.
